Elizabeth
Cameron Dalman is a choreographer, teacher and performer. She founded AUSTRALIAN
DANCE THEATRE and was its Artistic Director for ten years from 1965 - 1975.
She is currently Director of the MIRRAMU CREATIVE ARTS CENTRE at Lake George. She is also a Mentor and Board Member of The Australian Choreographic Centre in Canberra.
Elizabeth has a Masters of Creative Arts from Wollongong University;
is a recipient of an Australian Artists Creative Fellowship; was awarded an
OAM in 1995 for her contribution to contemporary dance in Australia and in
1997 received a National Dance Award for a Lifetime Achievement in Dance.
She instigated and was the driving force behind WEEREEWA - A Festival of Lake George (1999). She also directed several productions in the Festival including 'The Universal Lake' a magnificent site-specific work along the shores of the Lake. Some more recent performances include Credo 1993, 1995; Four Generations 1994, 1995, 1996; Dancing Lives 1995; Singing the Silence 1997; The Universal Lake and Site 1999; Looking Back, Folding on Forever, The Fountain of Age and a choreographer with the New Moves Choreographic Lab Initiative in 2000. Elizabeth continues to direct, choreograph, perform and teach, both in Australia and overseas.
